Allison and others, how about using a TA4107F device? This chip is used in the Kenwood TS-480 as a transmit mixer and they quote -0.5dB loss.

From the datasheets I was able to find, it's a Gilbert cell biased for low voltage (4.5V Vcc - I think they're clever in the bias network) and quite highish currents (32mA) meaning impedances in the hundred-ohm ballpark. i.e. an excellent choice for Transmit mixer.

I'm not sure what a "-0.5dB loss" number means in context of an active part that would usually have a gain? Maybe some mixer figure of merit that I'm unfamiliar with. For comparison, MC1496 and NE602 will (depending on bias etc.) have gains in the 20dB ballpark.

It seems to me that unless the TA4107F was readily available, that it would probably be placed in the footnotes that menti

Sounds like a SL6440 to me. It had 0,5 dB loss if terminated directly
into 50 ohms, and with 4:1 transformer on in and output you would have
some gain.
But this is truely made out of unobtanium :D As all of the Plessey IC's.
If you happens to find one it'll cost arm+leg and then some

One have to define a metrik to compare things! For power consumption,
board area, price or even simplicity, or simple I/O for already defined
parts like the Si570.

All other is a waste of time!

So, compare the DBM to AD833. What is better if the FOM is measured at
equal power consumption? For the DBM you need to include the LO driver
and diplexers.
