Another false start? I guess we'll see.

on second thoughts, even /nostalgia isn't what it used to be..'.

of late, i have realized that the days of heathkit are over. we have decentralized the ability to source and build. expresspcb gets the pcbs done. mouser sends in the components directly from BOM. in place of manuals that show you how to build, you have the youtube and then, there is always the EMRFD to go and sip the homebrew-aid.

I have fond memories of the days when nostalgia was what it used to be.

What's all this nostalgia stuff? It seems like just yesterday I was saving the tuning capacitor out of my Q multiplier. I'm still planning on putting into a project. Now....where did I put that box of tuning capacitors?

I disassembled the Heath QF1 and tossed the Hallicrafters S85 into a trash bin when I left for college (licensed 57 years).  But I just found that box of capacitors, and the Heath capacitor is still waiting for me to come get it. Hey, what's that? A Hammurland HFD-50, new in the box? And a BC221 tuning capacitor. Hmmmm. If I was a betting man I'd almost have to figure I'll not use the tuning capacitors or learn how to write SDR software for the 250 MHz 16 bit ADC evaluation board I was drooling over.
