Hope I can get some help from the group on this...

I'm doing research on transmission line baluns etc.  and was wondering if anyone can provide a copy of Guanella's Brown-Boveri 1944(?) article.    I already have a copy of his British patent and all of Sevicks books but the Brown-Boveri article is needed to gain additional insight in the methodology from Guanella.

Thanks in advance...

Alex

I know I have a photocopy of that, but I did not scan it. I'll dig into my files tomorrow to locate it.

It's in the Files section of the group website. Look for "guanella.pdf".

I have it but, as John said, it's in the Files section.

I think that arose from an interesting discussion we had here a couple of years ago.

He filed two US patents that I know-of; #2509057 & #3025480.

The earlier one is very simple, using coiled twin-line; it shows that he understood, in those early days, the nature of common-mode and differential-mode currents.

The second one contains as many combinations of ferrite and line type as he could think-of!  :)

Ruthroff's patent #3037175 is also worth studying.

I have copies of all of these but they should be easily available on the 'net.
